Today is:

Cosmonautics Day (Russian: День Космонавтики) is a holiday celebrated (mainly in Russia) every April 12 to commemorate the first manned earth orbit. It was established in the USSR on April 9, 1962.

😀 Maybe this holiday was supposed to replace easter in soviet times? Although in Russia easter is later – on April 27 😉 http://www.spc.rs/eng/easter_russia – I really like the idea of this holiday – maybe this should become international?
